WordPress recently released version 5.0 and most website using WordPress were upgraded automatically with Gutenberg WordPress Editor installed.
But some website owners upgrade to WordPress version 5.0 by themselves.
The Gutenberg WordPress Editor has some many features and completely different from the old WordPress Classic Editor.
Using Gutenberg Editor to create post makes everything looks so difficult to me and my team.
So because of that, Scholar.ng decided to make research on how to completely disable Gutenberg WordPress Editor.
The Gutenberg editor consists of columns, options for multi-media and other ways to vary the layout of a page or post.
Steps To Disable Gutenberg WordPress Editor
- Login to your WordPress dashboard
- Click Plugins, then Add new
- Search for 'Disable Gutenberg'
- Click Install and activate
Your set and ready to use the old WordPress classic editor. No other option requires, just install the plugin and active.
Now try creating new post or page, you will notice the old editor will appear and remind for as long as you want.
Remember nor to deactivate the plugin, leave it activated to keep using the old editor.
I don't recommend disabling Gutenberg WordPress Editor using code via function.php as it might break your website.
In case you still don't understand, or you finding the above method difficult, then watch the video below. It teaches you how to disable it.
Note that the below video wasn't recorded by us. Thanks
