The Victoria University of Wellington 2022 International Excellence Scholarship is intended to assist academically promising undergraduate international students from other countries who are currently enrolled at an educational institution in New Zealand in their pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree at Victoria University of Wellington.

Eligibility for Victoria University of Wellington 2022 International Excellence Scholarship
These scholarships are available to international school students who have attended a secondary school in New Zealand for at least one full year (i.e., their Year 12 year) and who are enrolling at Victoria University of Wellington in Trimester 1 of the year following their application for the scholarship. The recipients of scholarships will be chosen through a competitive process based on their academic excellence.

- Applicants must be enrolling in their first year of their first undergraduate degree.
- Applicants must have NCEA Level 2 (or 3 if taken in Year 12) endorsed with Excellence or equivalent in another qualification.
Application Process for Victoria University of Wellington 2022 International Excellence Scholarship
On the closing date, applications must be submitted electronically, in their whole, no later than 4:30 p.m. Applications that are either late or not complete will not be considered. In order for the application to be taken into consideration, all necessary supporting documentation—including references—must be sent on or before the closing date and time, which is 4:30 p.m.

Scholarship specific documentation

- A reference from your School principal or nominee (requested through the online application).
Selection will be made by a panel of Wellington University International staff.
If an application for housing is submitted to University Accommodation Wellington by the 1st of October, all recipients of the Wellington International Excellence Scholarships will be guaranteed an offer of a place in one of our Halls of Residence. This is contingent, however, on the submission of the housing application by the 1st of October.
The first year of study will be covered by the scholarship in the amount of $10,000, and the second and third years of study will each be covered by an additional $5,000, provided that the student maintains a grade point average of 7 (an average of A-). In order for students to continue to be eligible for the Wellington International Excellence Scholarship, they are required to maintain a full-time study load of at least 120 points every year. After the withdrawal deadline for the first trimester, these scholarships will be applied to the total amount due for tuition (roughly two weeks after the first day of the trimester).
