Duration and Reward of Matilda Mwaba Scholarship

  • The scholarship will cover the fees for one short course (module) of the University of London International Sports Management by distance learning.
  • Successful recipients of the scholarship will also receive mentorship in the specialist subject area.

Scholarship Details

Four scholarships are being provided by the University of London in memory of the late Ms. Matilda Mwaba. The scholarship will pay the tuition for one short course (module) of the University of London’s distance learning programme in international sports management. Mentorship in the specialised topic area will also be provided to scholarship winners.

The Zambia National Organization for Women in Sport, Physical Activity, and Recreation (NOWSPAR), where Ms. Matilda Mwaba served as CEO, was co-founded by her. Additionally, she served as Africa’s representative on the International Working Group on Women in Sport’s Global Executive (IWG). Her advocacy work centred on boosting women’s and girls’ involvement in sport, sport for development, organisational development, and policy engagement on the integrity of sport, as well as sport for empowering girls and women in and through it.

Eligibility Requirements for Matilda Mwaba Scholarship

You must fulfil the following requirements in order to be eligible for a scholarship from the University of London:

  • Be a female
  • Possess a module or postgraduate certificate offer
  • Be under the age of 35
  • Be a permanent resident of an African nation.
  • Be able to cite appropriate references
